Set in a tranquil location in the heart of Mid-Wales, an area of outstanding natural beauty, home to the famous Red Kites. Close to Rhayader and the Elan Valley Reservoirs, and the Royal Welsh Show ground in Builth Wells.
We are a busy family farm run by husband and wife team Howell and Liz Powell, together with our three sons Joe, Ben and Jake. We are the sixth generation of Powells farming at Llwyngwilym. The farm is renowned for the fine quality breeding of Welsh Mule Ewes, offered for sale at Builth Wells and Welshpool, and show potential cattle which are sold from the farm.
The breeding of horses down the years has always been part of the family business. We have now extended the horse breeding enterprise to include ten breeding coloured mares and two stallions of exceptional quality.
